The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Michaela Powers of Mapleton has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Student Award winner. Powers, who attends Presque Isle Middle School (PIMS), will appear in the United Stats Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.
“Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America’s history. Certainly, United States Achievement Academy winners should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement,” said George Stevens, founder of the United States Achievement Academy.
Powers is active on the Civil Rights Team at PIMS and is a cheerleader. She is also Junior Miss Mapleton 2008.
The USAA National Honor Student Awards provide honor students with many benefits and services and is a great tribute to a student’s dedication, talent and ability.
Powers is the daughter of Joe and Sue Powers of Mapleton, and the granddaughter of Vaughn and Glenda Winslow of Presque Isle.
