Alternative to new police station

To the editor:
In light of the recent announcement from Senator Collins of the congressionally directed spending request of $2.5 million to renovate and expand a facility for the Caribou Police Department, I would like to offer an alternate idea to the taxpayers of Caribou.

I wrote to Maine Sen. Trey Stewart, R-Presque Isle, and Maine Rep. Joseph Underwood, R-Presque Isle, on April 25, asking whether they planned any public meetings to discuss what they have done in their current positions, and what they hope to accomplish should they be reelected.

Remembering the SNARK

The military installation (Presque Isle Army Air Base 1940-1947 and then Presque Isle Air Force Base) once located in Presque Isle played a major role in the defense of the nation for two decades.
