The players in the grades 3 and 4 Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department basketball program got a special treat recently, courtesy of UMPI women’s coach Tracy Guerrette, UMPI men’s coach Terry Cummings and their team’s players: a private clinic to work on skills and drills.
This was a great opportunity for the youngsters to see college players in action, although it was difficult to tell which players were enjoying themselves more. It seemed as though working with the future players took the current players to their past.
Both teams did a fantastic job going over the skills of ball handling, passing, shooting and defense with the third and fourth graders.
