Feed Depot: For barnyard needs

The Feed Depot, located at 160 Airport Drive in Presque Isle, has been meeting the barnyard animal and pet needs in northern Aroostook County and the St. John Valley since 2005. The business moved to Presque Isle in May 2013, after a decade in Easton.

“We have the largest feed selection north of Bangor. We provide quality feeds and good customer service, with knowledgeable staff on hand to answer questions and meet your needs,” said owner Noel Currie.
In addition to Currie, employees include: Emilee Currie, Dana Packard and Jessica Beaulieu.
“Maintaining a good customer/associate relationship is what makes us successful. Having knowledge of certain feed and their purposes and carrying a wide variety of feed ensures customers get exactly what they need for the type of animals they have,” said Currie.
A happy customer is good for business and is something the company strives for.
“We help many customers decide what type of feed is right for their animals. We are always ordering special feeds that our customers can’t get anywhere else. We also load feed for our customers,” Currie said.
He said some products include locally-grown ingredients.
“We have Fiddlehead feeds, which are locally-made feed with locally-grown ingredients — all non-GMO and pesticide-free. We have pig feed and chicken feed,” Currie said.
Currie said he’s always looking for ways to improve and broaden the business.
“This year we opened The Garden Depot which carries a wide variety of products for any gardening needs. We have many brands of feed — the largest selection north of Bangor. We also had our first tack/horse supply sale this year; we have some items from Gass Horse Supply from Orono,” said Currie.
“We’re locally-owned and -operated. We take pride in being a small-town store,” said Currie.
