CARIBOU — “A date which will live in infamy” were the word President Franklin D. Roosevelt used to describe the attacks on Pearl Harbor and 71 years later, patriots of the greater Caribou community continue to gather on the Fort Fairfield Road bridge every Dec. 7 to remember the day that Pearl Harbor was attacked.
Community members are encouraged to attend the ceremony and honor of those who died, those who endured and those who continue to keep the memories of that day with them to date; the brief program lasts approximately 15 minutes and is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. on the Fort Fairfield side of the bridge.
Those with questions regarding the event held by members of the American Legion and the VFW are encouraged to call Caribou’s American Legion Post at 492-6931.
